In the business landscape, Accountability and Ownership are two needed qualities that can define success. Entrepreneurs/solopreneurs and business owners need to adopt these principles wholeheartedly to achieve growth and establish themselves in competitive markets.

Based on my experiential learnings of last 25 years in my own business, various corporate titles & the academic learnings, summarising below how simple tasks like customer connect, follow-ups, asking for referrals and taking initiatives can enhance self-accountability & push your business to new heights.


1. Follow-ups: Nurturing Client Relationships

The art of follow-ups cannot be overstated when it comes cultivating relationships with new prospect as well as building and maintaining strong client relationships. In the business world, both existing clients and potential customers appreciate being remembered and valued.

Following up after meeting or a sales not only shows your commitment but also keeps you fresh in their minds. This persistence can lead to repeat business and referrals, while also creating a positive impression on those who are considering your services or products for the first time.

Moreover, effective follow-ups serve as a crucial form of self-accountability. They ensure that tasks are completed, commitments are honoured, and deadlines are met. By keeping a close eye on your follow-up process, you create a culture of responsibility within your business that drives everyone to stay on track.
